OUR FOUNDER
Fiona Lucas is the founder of iRespectOnline® and the parent forum Futureproof Your Kids®. She is a Social Media & Online Community Strategist & Educator. Taking a wholistic approach to strategy, Fiona looks across businesses to ensure that goals are aligned and compatible across the business.
Building a strong customer and service centric business is vital in today’s environment.
Through her work in the online environment and in education Fiona recognised the importance of bringing the concept of reputation management and relationship marketing to the forefront of online education and business strategy. The building of community with strong values and an “in service” approach is imperative in building strong relationships. Community can take place in many forms, but being present is vital.
iRespectOnline and Fiona Lucas have been recognised in her local community as a finalist in the Geelong Business Excellence Awards 2018 and the Geelong Small Business Awards as a social media influencer in 2017.
Whether you are a CEO, celebrity, self employed , student, coach or brick and mortar business or organisation – reputation and brand walk hand in hand.
Fiona has researched and observed the damage which can be caused to a reputation through the poor use of social media and knows just how hard it can be to rebuild. Social media is a brilliant tool for magnifying messages, but unfortunately it magnifies mistakes too.
Fiona is the author of Futureproof Your Kids© and creator of the Four Rs Reputation Framework©.
In addition to her work in business, Fiona is a passionate advocate for protection of children’s reputations online. She has created a simple four-step framework to help parents guide their children as they enter the world of social media and to act as a life long guide to manage reputation.
The driving motivation is Fiona’s deep interest in ethics, good governance and trust-based relationship-building in the online space and her own experience of bullying both as a child and later in life. She believes that everyone should be aware of the need to manage their online presence in an authentic way and has adapted the four-step reputation framework for the business environment.
Recognised as a thought leader and well respected in the reputation field, she contributes blogs to various sites including Business Chicks and Happy Parenting and is a member of the Advisory Panel for KidTrack in the USA as well as a program partner for the Australian government’s Stay Smart online National Cyber Safety initiative. She has completed the NSPCC and CEOP (UK) Training in Keeping Children Safe online and Australia eSmart training.
In addition to her business experience, Fiona is a life long learner and has mentored with some of the leading names in Social Media in the world including Mari Smith, Amy Porterfield and Donna Moritz. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (including majors in eCommerce, Human Resource Management & Accounting), IT Certification and Cert IV Training & Assessment. She was previously an associate CPA prior to launching her own business.
She is a social media branding strategist, blogger, mentor and previously worked in education as a Strategic Finance/HR Business Manager. She was deeply involved in many school-based committees and mentored many young business managers. She started her first business in 1996 providing admin and secretarial services.
Fiona was a finalist in the 2013 Mamamia’s l Most Clickable Women Awards* Fiona says, ‘I have always been someone passionate about helping others to grow and equally passionate about ethics and transparency, and the online environment continually was showing me that there are some real gaps in the way we are engaging online, which often has damaging results”.
